In a sector with critical compliance requirements, cyber security, data protection and information governance are the foundation stones of successful cloud solutions. Conexus Law turned to Inspire Cloud Technologies to optimise its Microsoft 365 tenancy. In doing so, it has benefitted from licencing optimization, improvements to security and resilience and greater peace of mind.
When the business was founded in 2019, the Conexus Law leadership team took the decision to take ‘cloud first’ and ‘Microsoft first’ approaches.
So that the firm could draw on the best talent from around the UK, support for remote working was a priority from day one. While they can use the firm’s offices in London’s Finsbury Circus, the team are free to work from any location.
However, in mid-2020 the leadership team began exploring new IT support partners.
“As a relatively new firm we are unrestrained by legacy. We needed the very best cutting edge, watertight, robust and flexible systems at the core of the business to support our efficient and excellent client delivery. And we needed a supplier with detailed knowledge of Microsoft 365 intricacies.” explains Victoria Skidmore, Finance Director at Conexus Law.”
The firm had been working with Hyperscale Group, a specialist in legal IT and innovation and it introduced Victoria to Inspire Cloud.
“What made Inspire Cloud stand out was their passion for everything Microsoft – and their ability to explain it in layman’s terms,” says Victoria. “We were very confident that Inspire Cloud could set up the tenancy properly from a security and protection perspective.”
“Inspire Cloud Technologies spent a lot of time with us, trying to understand Conexus Law,” continues Victoria. “Before that, I didn’t realise how important that exploratory stage is, but it really helped us to understand and crystalise our ideas about what we need. Based on that work, Inspire Cloud provided us with options and recommendations tailored to what we want in terms of end result and cost.”
Conexus Law chose Inspire Cloud’s Microsoft Health Check service. This gave them a comprehensive overview of the firm’s in-use services and how to improve quickly through configuration changes or security improvements.
“Having somebody whom you trust is crucial. For us the stakes are high – we are building a new business in a dynamic and tech savvy market. Inspire Cloud made an effort to understand our goals and know what we are building here.”
As well as suggesting improvements for enhanced security and reconfiguration options that would optimise spend, the Inspire Cloud health check delivered a 25 page document detailing the state of the Microsoft 365 tenancy.
“I would highly recommend Inspire Cloud’s Microsoft Health Check service to others,” says Victoria. “The information in the report was really useful, particularly when we came to renew our Cyber Essentials certification – as was the support from Inspire Cloud. It’s brilliant to have someone on the end of the phone when you need to ask a question.”
“Inspire Cloud did such a good job with the tenancy, we felt comfortable they were the right people to help us with this,” says Victoria.
With Inspire Cloud’s help, Conexus Law set up Microsoft Teams Phone, an all-in-one app that brings together calling, chat, meetings, and collaboration.
“Inspire Cloud set up all the DDIs, call groups and redirects. We have a specific way of working and Inspire Cloud set it up exactly how we wanted it,” explains Victoria, “and they set up training sessions for everyone to show everyone how to use Teams and Teams Phone. As well as the group sessions, they made individual calls to people who needed extra help. They really went the extra mile with everything.”
